German Sterling Silver & Enamel Dutch Scene Thimble, Dutch Import Mark

Vintage German sterling silver and colourful guiloché enamel thimble depicting a Dutch landscape scene with a couple in national costumes, a windmill, trees and canal with sailing boats. Most probably made by Lotthammer of Pforzheim, Germany for export to the Netherlands in the mid-twentieth century. Eight point star pattern on the crown inside which it is marked Z1 - a Dutch import mark for sterling silver. Stamped 925 (for sterling silver) in the reeded band above the flat turn over rim. In excellent condition - in round with no holes or dents and the enamel is undamaged. Please note that the edges of the enamel are usually a bit wavy or uneven on this type of thimble. Height approx. 2.3 cm; internal base diameter approx. 1.6 cm; weight 5.3 grams.
