A Large & Incredibly Rare Islamic Quran Box with Faux Tortoise Shell, Wood ,Camel Bone and Mother of Pearl work . Intricate Work around the 5 Sides with a Set of Drawers at the Front and and Opening Lid. Stunning Geometric Interlaced Patterns all Around. A Must for Collectors Of Cairoware ,Mamluk Revival ,Persian & Islamic Art in General.

This is an incredibly beautiful Quran box which has very intricate and fine work.The Faux Tortoise Shell gives the box a look of opulence and the mother of pearl work just permeates regality!! The box opens at the front with three doors which have expensive bone handles.The top section also opens on a hinge.

Condition:

The condition is good. There has been some sympathetic restoration of the faux tortoise shell panels and mother of pearl in places over time. The Faux tortoise on the top has a crack line on the joints running alongthetop. This could easily be filled and rectified. PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES OR ASK FOR FURTHER PICTURES IF NEED BE !!

Being wood I am no expert on woodenware so I am not sure how old this is. It has some age but please do your research before offerding!!!!
