This Coat is made from the Fur Mustela Sibirca Fontaniere (Chinese Weasel) and is sold as Sable also known as Chinese Mink with the best pelts coming from Kiangsu Province on China.

SABLEFur and hair obtained from any of the four related species: are classified as Sable.

- Russian fitch (Martes zibellina: black sable, Russian sable),

- Kolinsky mink (Mustela sibirica sibirica: red sable)

- Chinese mink (Mustela lutreola)

- Chinese weasel (Mustela sibirica fontaniere).

Sable pelts are durable. The brown-black pelts have short, fine fur with silky guard hairs. Sable furs from Siberia have been traded since at least the 11th century. Sable was an expensive fur that was worn by nobles and the aristocracy. Guard hairs from the tail are used in artist brushes. Artist brushes prepared with red sable are considered superior to those made with black sable. The black sable brushes are less resilient, shorter, and stiffer than kolinsky (red sable) brushes.

In form and hunting behaviour, the Siberian weasel represents atransitional form between small mustelids (such asstoatsand weasels) and their larger cousins (minks andpolecats).

It is a valuable fur bearer, particularly for thepaint brushindustry.

This much smaller carnivore to its cousin the mink has fur that is much softer than mink being of the smaller variety.

This coat is quite rare here in Australia but more common in Europe but expensive. .

The Sable colour is to die for just so luxe and as you can see in photos changes colour due to differing light, you can also see in the photos it retains all the original guard hairs in the fur which gives it that super lustre,

This Fur is in super fabulous condition and so is Silk Lining, only one minor issue a 2cm repair in one sleeve, hard to find.

Truly Hollywood Glamour Luxe at its best. One of my best.
