Glasgow Mechanics' Magazine 1824 nice leather 3 vols illustrated engineering

The Glasgow Mechanics' Magazine;
and Annals of Philosophy

(3 volumes of annual anthologies for this 19th century periodical)

Issued Glasgow, 1824-26 by W.R. M'Phun.

Each volume c. 500 pp.

Period brown 1/4 leather bindings, gilt raised bands, stamped compartments, and spine lettering, marbled boards, engraved portrait frontispieces and title pages, numerous fascinating engraved illustrations -- highlighting various machines, inventions, buildings, geometric equations, etc. -- throughout the set.

Ingood, mostly cleancondition, light general age wear, bindings lightly scuffed, rubbedand a bit worn, several joints splitting (though boards remain firmly attached), spine leather lightly soiled -- still quite attractive as a set. Internally mostly clean, some scattered foxing and small soiling which is not heavy or offensive. With old owner's bookplates to front pastedowns.

Overall sound and despite any flaws, still a nice old set well worthy of ownership.

We've done our best to photograph the set so you can see the condition and we've tried to mention any flaws or issues.

Measures c. 5 1/2" W x 8 1/2" H.

Please know thatwe absolutely never attempt to mis-represent what we are offering. Almost everything we sell is 100 or more years old and antique items can be challenging to describe. We takemultiple pictures for everyitem, and wedo our best to mention & describe the item in a way which accurately and fully conveys what it is and how it survives. We're never trying to hide anything or deceive you, since you'll be receiving the item and can inspect it.

It is possible we can occasionally overlook or miss something, fail to mention something, etc., but it is never done intentionally and we are always willing to take something back if our description somehow omits mentioning something which can reasonably considered a note-worthy fault or defect (old book plates at the front of books do not count here). If we notice something overlooked in the listing before shipment we will contact you before shipping your order.

Describing thecondition of antique items is always a bit subjective; everyone attaches different levels of importance to different issues. We tell you all this to explain our approach to describing our items. We try hard to make sure that when our customers receive their order they are happy with it and this is indeed usually the outcome.

Most people who buy from us are very happy when the item arrives and often feel we have undersold the item- that it is in fact nicer than we said and nicer than it appears on the screen.

Even after the sale, we're here for you. We want you to come back and become a regular customer and tell your friends about

We hope you find us friendly and reasonable. We're confident you'll be pleased with the item and the transaction.
If you are ever unhappy for any reason, please email us before you leave response!
We will work with you and you will leave us happy!

Thank you.
