Gorgeous 1925 Korach Loop Antenna * 4 Feet Wide * Best Radio Loop Ever Made For Sale

I'm listing an outstanding assortment of musical, electrical and mechanical
antiques, and I suspect that there will be something of
interest to almost everyone.Here's
a gorgeous 1920's Korach Loop Antenna. Unlike most 20's loops, which were cheap and flimsy, this loop was built to the most exacting industrial standards. It was made in
Chicago, Illinois by the Korach Radio Company, and it is widely considered to be the best loop aerial manufactured in 1920's. Standing more than 50" tall, it is certainly one of the largest. With nine separate taps, a compass built into its base (solid turned wood), 360 degrees of gauged rotation, and more than 100 feet of thick wire sheathed in cotton, it's quite an imposing apparatus, and I suspect that if you were lucky enough to own a 5 foot wide Leutz superhet back in the day, this was probably your antenna of choice. As you can see in the fourth photo, the loop folds down to a (relatively) compact 28" for easy transport. Because the wire is so thick, the loop can be repeatedly opened and closed without running the risk of entangling the wire turns. When the loop is open, the wire is nice and taut, with no fraying anywhere. Wood poles are in excellent condition, as are the bakelite tensioners. The embossed centerpiece is made of metal. The compass in the base still works, and the loop rotates smoothly.
Even if you don't need a loop antenna, this aerial will stand out in
any collection of high end vintage technology. It's really nice.
That's about it.
