Offered is a fabulous antique large shell cameo brooch embellished with genuine coral cabs and glass pearls. The carving subject is the goddess of the hunt, Diana (Artemis) with her bow and the crescent moon on her forehead. This gorgeous cameo is beautifully detailed with lovely coloring to the shell. It is surrounded by genuine coral cabs and glass pearls and set in an ornately engraved brass frame. This piece has a c clasp and dates to the early 1900\'s. It is marked GNS on the back, for George N. Steere, a jeweler in business at the turn of the century. His pieces are quite collectible. This piece measures 2 3/4\" by 2 1/8\". It is in very good antique condition with original patina.
