This amazing naturalistic Aesthetic Movement shell shaped sterling olive or almond dish with matching shell shaped spoon was made by Gorham c. 1885. It is gorgeously wrought in the shape of an oyster shell with two small clam shells as feet. It is further enhanced with what appear to be barnacles on its underside. It is fully marked with the Gorham trademark as well as the model number 535. Accompanying it is an amazing matching Gorham Narragansett sterling spoon also in the shape of a shell with what appears to be a driftwood or branch shaped handle wrapped with a band with an attached limpet shell. It is also marked with the Gorham mark (although somewhat obliterated) and STERLING along with the model number 8. The dish is 4.5\" x 4\" x 1.25\" and weighs 62.6 grams. The spoon is 4.75\" long and weighs 16.2 grams.
