This is the not often seen MK II B version, please notice the different style knobs. These old big and heavy Hallicrafters receivers always amaze me in how good they sound tuning in a AM station. With general coverage 550kc-34mc in 4 bands the Shortwave guys loved these through the years. Of course it has a separate bandspread for the ham bands. Original knobs, crisp lettering, excellent front panel with a couple nicks,clear dial numbers, large working S meter, 5 step selectivity (.5-5kc), calibrator, adjustable T notch filter, ANL and much more. One of the most impressive features is the precision gear drive dial system. The cabinet is not damaged or modified and the original cabinet paint is very good, but has a few scratches on top. The chassis is in need of a cleanup, but the often missing 100 kc calibrator is in place.. Bench tested witha 20' indoor wire antenna and copied BC, shortwave, ham SSB/CW on all open bands. The only exception noted is when you select lower sideband the receiver seems to go to standby. All other modes are working beautifully. It needs an external speaker, not included. It's big 18 1/2 w x 11d x 9 h and heavy, 35 lbs double boxed for shipment. Sold as is. Thanks for looking, Gary
