Handel Lamp Base C.1915 Mission, Stickley Style, Arts And Crafts For Sale
You are viewing an exceptional Handel Lamp base. The base has a very beautifull overlapping 'leaf' form design. Right out of the American Arts and Crafts Movement and Stickley era which had organic design motifs as a basic tenet . I would guess about 1915. Thisdesign would work very well in a modern 'minimal' setting as well. The base has its original bronze patina with just the slightest wear and oxidation. In fact this is the patina that reproductions try very hard to duplicate ! It is signed on the bottom. Two of the original "acorn" pull chains are there and the third is a replacement. The finialI don't think is original and the sockets may need replacement or repair as they have some breaks and old repairs. But the fact remains that this is a great form. it stands 26 3/4 inches high to top of finial and is 8 inches in diameter at the base.
