...A BEAUTIFUL, HAND-MADE violin is a wonderful example of the work of
late 19th century American violin-making...a fine
example of the luthier's craftsmanship.
and likely the violin is an original design of the maker's.
It bears the maker's original, handwritten label. The
powerful, rich, velvetyvoice of this violin speaks for
itself. As usual, I have included a video sound
sample so that you can judge it for is a gorgeous violin.....powerful and resonant with
deep, growling, bass tones & soaring trebles. I am very
impressed with the rich, lush, powerful sound. Its
perfectfor a any advanced violinist or soloist.
is a strong violin with a powerful voice...likely due
to the maker's high-arched design. It has a wonderful,
mature sound...deep bass tones, full of resonance...
and clear, singing treble tones...a nice old,
mellow sounding instrument. CONDITION: This violin is innice, fully restored condition. There are no
sound post cracks. There is the usual wear and tear, dings,
scratches, etc. that you'd expect. There are some saddle cracks
on either side of the tailpiece and a pressure crack in beneath
the chinrest that were properly restored in 1927 and are totally
solid(anon-structural area). The violin originally had machine
pegs which were popular in the late 1800s, but havebeen
restored to standardviolin pegs. They are holding strong;
a testament to the old worldskills of the early violin-makers.
