Hasui Kawase Japanese Woodblock Print Mount Fuji From Yuimachi At Suruga For Sale
HASUI KAWASE JAPANESE WOODBLOCK PRINT MOUNT FUJI FROM YUIMACHI AT SURUGAPrint size margins included-15.50X10.50 InchesRecent estate sale purchase Purchased from estate were previous owner traveled to Japan & Korea in the 1950s I have opened all of these as all were framed and sealed.If you want the original frame etc let me know. Some yellowing/ Browning along top margin on back and light along lower margin as you can see in photo (see photo of this) This was caused by a copy of stars and stripes newspaper that was used for "fill" behind the backer board. All of thee prints had a blank paper behind the print then a folded newspaper behind that. The paper behind the print shifted and the (acidic) newspaper was toughing the top back side of the print There is no real yellowing to front of print though as you can see in photo. Small drying pinhole top left margin Artists Seal and Publishers seal (Watanabe ) present. (photo) Also signed/dated lower left margin(photo) Strong color Nice print Not sure of age .
