Hee Haw Donkey AnimationHand Painted Original Production Animation Cel + Background + DrawingPieces measure approximately 12.5" x 10.5"
You are offerding on a one original hand painted Hee Haw Donkey animation cel + background and one matching pencil drawing that were used in the production of the cartoon! The animation cel measures approximately 12.5 x 10.5". The drawing may be slightly larger.
*All of these pieces were used and handled and have sustained general wear. Cels may show signs of wear, slight paint chipping or smell slightly of acetone. The drawing may have creases and folds and may have smudged the pencil over time. In some cases, the drawing and the cel may have been stuck together, so it is not uncommon to find paint transfer on drawings and paper transfer on the back of painted cels. Please see the photos above for condition.
At the time of their use, hand painted animation cels were not considered very valuable. They were often simply thrown away after the production of the cartoon. today, in the age of computers, these original hand painted cels have risen in value! Invest in this emerging market today and enjoy these wonderful pieces of art!

Show Information:

Hee Hawis an Americantelevisionvariety showfeaturingcountry musicand humor with fictional rural Kornfield Kounty as a backdrop. It aired on CBS-TV from 1969–1971 before a 20-year run in localsyndication. The show was inspired byRowan & Martin's Laugh-In,[1]the major difference being thatHee Hawwas far less topical, and was centered on country music and rural Southern culture. Co-hosted by country artistsBuck OwensandRoy Clarkfor most of the series' run, the show was equally well known for its voluptuous, scantily-clad women in stereotypical farmer's daughter outfits and country-styleminidresses, male starsJim and Jon Hagerand itscornponehumor.

Hee Haw's appeal, however, was not limited to a rural audience. It was successful in all of the major markets, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. Other niche programs such asThe Lawrence Welk Show(which targeted older audiences) andSoul Train(a black-oriented program) also rose to prominence in syndication during the era. LikeLaugh-In, the show minimized production costs by taping all of the recurringsketchesfor a season in batches— setting up for the Cornfield one day, the Joke Fence another, etc. At the height of its popularity, an entire year's worth of shows would be taped in two separate week-long sessions, then individual shows would be assembled from edited sections. Only musical performances were taped with a live audience; alaugh trackwas added to all other segments.

The series was taped at WLAC-TV USAin Nashville.[3]The show was produced by Yongestreet Productions through the mid-1980s; it was later produced byGaylord Entertainment, which distributed the show in syndication. The show's name was coined by show business talent manager and producer Bernie Brillstein and derives from a common Englishonomatopoeiaused to describe the braying sound that adonkeymakes.[1]
