HISTORIC PANORAMIC VIEW OF RIVER THAMES LONDON 1750's
PART OF THE COLLECTION-:
BUCK'S PERSPECTIVE VIEWS OF CITIES AND CHIEF TOWNS OF ENGLAND AND WALES
This panoramic view commemorates the opening of the New! Westminster Bridge built in 1750 and the demolition of all the shops and houses on the "LIVING BRIDGE" London Bridge in 1757which by this time was around 600yrs old. Between the iconic bridges it depicts all the important buildings, churches, abbeys, cathedrals, stairs and many more all numbered and listed along the bottom of each page, many are sadly no longer in existance.
This is surely a phenomenal historical record of what the River Thames was like in the 1750's.
When put together it creates a magnificent panoramic view of the river catching a glimpse of a time long since gone.
