This is one of the most fabulous bug pins I have come across in a while. A large yellow cabochon body, open antique finished metal work and colorful applied enamel flowers decorating the wings are just the beginning. The beetle/bug is wearing a smart necklace of faux seed pearls and has sparkling flashing lime green rhinestone eyes. The hallmark appears on the reverse. ca. 1960s.This pin is featured in the book Costume Jewelry 101 by Julia Carroll on page 95.Condition: Little part of leg that is missing, but not even noticeable. I never noticed until I was taking pictures. This bug pin is fabulous, even if he/she is missing a little part of his leg. You cannot tell.
