Huge Vtg 80s Couture Italy Blinding Headlights Rivoli Gold Leather Runway Cuff:
HUGE VTG 80S COUTURE ITALY BLINDING HEADLIGHTS RIVOLI GOLD LEATHER RUNWAY CUFF
Unsigned Italian studio designer goddess cuff bracelet circa early-mid 1980's. This is an editorial/runway piece ~ you can see why. Very opulent. The cuff has a handmade aesthetic to it. Blinding, oversized Rivoli rhinestones are everywhwere ~ this is a fully loaded piece!!Gold painted leather backing in an asymmetrical shape, with raised gold settings for each rivoli rhinestone. Measures just over 7 1/2" end to end when laid flat. Starts off at approx 1 1/4" wide and gradually widens to 3" at the wider end. Fastens with a snap closure. Architectural, modernist design!Quintessentially 1980's Maximialist style!
Incredibly well made - each HEADLIGHTS rhinestone is in it's own raised gold setting and all stones are intact and so sparkly - no dead stones! These are not just randomnly glued on - very high end design.
I have the matching clip shoulder duster earrings in a separate auciton ~ I wanted to separate them in case the set was too 'intimidating' ~ as both are such statement pieces! :-)
WELL KEPT and stored over the decades. Incredible for a night out ~ think Vegas! When I think of the late 80's Supermodel Era, I think of pieces like this...
I've included editorial pictures from Vogue and Elle (1988-1992) for inspiration on how to style this bold OVERSIZED STATEMENT CUFF look! Enjoy!
CONDITION: EXCELLENT - see pics for all details. Some minimal surface wear, primarily to the gold leather around the edges and on the back of the cuff - although this could be the original design as I think it looks incredible like this. PICTURES are the best indicator of description - please double click to zoom in and refer to pics if you have any doubts. I'm always available to answer questions.
You will not be disappointed! Please ask all questions and be certain prior to placing your offer... Good luck!
