VERY LARGE AESTHETIC BROWN TRANSFERWARE WATER JUG OR PITCHER
Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire England
This extremely large Victorian 11 1/4 " tall x 9 " wide pitcher jug is transfer printed in rich dark brown.
The pattern features some of the most outrageous looking birds the potteries artist could imagine. A rim of wildly tropical flowers with hummingbirds. Aquatic flowering Iris, Cattails, and Water Lilies surrounding two most unusual and exotic birds. A marvel of the imagination. The pattern displays the victorian eras love of nature.
Great condition. A small chip to the underside of the spout and a c shaped hairline along the base. Displays beautifully in a great, impossible to find pattern.
