What a fantastic and truly rare piece of turquoise in this wonderful old Native American handmade bracelet. This nice large and heavy early trade bracelet has all of the stamps that we all know and love from this era. However what stands out about this one that makes even more exceptional are rare than any others, which we will add there are not a lot to start with, is the amazing silver work and fantastic 1-1/2" by 1" turquoise stone.
Lets look at the silver work first. OMG how much time and effort do you suppose it took to make and attach each of those silver drops one at a time? Then check out the tiny twisted wire that wraps the base of the stone and the straight silver wire that wraps the anchoring silver drops in the frame around the stone. It is just a sensational piece of silver work. Let's not forget the hand split shank that was also hand stamped. Yes the stamps may have been commercially produced, but who cares! This is a tremendous piece of work from an era when it was not so easy.
The turquoise stone is really an attention grabber. I tried to get a close up photo but it did not turn out too great. I am not sure what is with our camera lately but it does not do these pieces justice. Anyway, if you LOOK INTO the stone. That is key by the way, being able to look into the stone. You can see the dendrite properties in the matrix. That is when the matrix looks like a fern. It is rare that you see it and when you do it is really neat looking.
This is a brilliant bracelet that look beautiful on the wrist and trust me you won't see anything like it any time soon if at all. This is a valuable piece to add to any collection.
