Haggadah Haggada Judaica Passover Hebrew Hungarian Old 1942 Omzsa Budapest Sign For Sale
UP FOR offerDING:
Very rare and beautiful old (1942) Haggadah of Passover in Hebrew and Hungarian languages. If I understood correctly what is written in the Haggadah - there were only 1000 copies of this Haggadah and this Haggadah is numbered 732. (As shown in the photos).
This Haggadah is from the time of the Second World War, It was published by Omzsa - the help organization for the Jews of Hungary on 1942. Copyright by Ernest Munkacsi, Budapest. The Haggadah was printed by David Loybel & Son.
It has beautiful illustration, pictures and explanations. It has also 2 music sheets. Dr. Szabolcsi compiled the music notes. The Haggadah was signed by the four writers & artists:
Dr. Ribary wrote the introduction to the Haggadah.
Dr. Munkacsi wrote the research "Towards Passover Seder" and the section about the art of illustration of the Haggadah.
Dr. Kohn translated the Haggadah and attached his comments to it.
The book's decorations were made by the graphic artist B. Gondor.
COVER: Hardcover.
BOOK'S CONDITION: Acceptable pre-owned condition with obvious wear and pages yellowing commensurate with age. A few pages have a tiny stain on them, which doesn't affect the reading of the text. The cover’s middle part between the front and the back isn't intact and crumbles, as shown in the photos; the cover has a stain on the upper back side of it, as shown in the photos.
Very nice gift for Passover, very nice Judaica books collector!
