Halcyon Days "the Victory" Flagship Admiral Lord Nelson Trinket Box Very Rare For Sale
Offered for sale is this Halcyon Days enameled trinket box with Lord Nelson's Flagship "The Victory" on the lid. Inside it states "The Victory . . . Launched in May 1765, the Victory was Admiral Lord Nelson's Flagship. He died on board, off Trafalgar, in October, 1805". On the inside base an anchor surrounded by laurel is depicted.
The piece measures 1 3/4" high. The base is oval measuring 2 3/4" long and 1 3/4" wide. The jar base is a Royal Navyblue.This set was purchased in England and is being offered for sale by a very elegant lady here in Williamsburg, Virginia. In fact, she has a collection of around thirty Halcyon Days, Staffordshire & Chummles items of which she has asked me to sell seven (7).
