our South African Wire Art items are from a Fair Trade Organization
that imports hand crafted greeting cards, beaded wire animals, notebooks
and beaded silk and cotton cushions from South Africa. Each item is
unique and made iwth a tremendous amount of care and pride.
All
items are skillfully crafted by men and women in disadvantaged
communities in Durban and Cape Town. Beading projects are run from homes
and community centers in the townships based on a self help system.
These beading projects help restore human dignity and fight poverty
throughout these communities. This is done by creating the opportunity
for unemployed South Africans to utilize their skills while working in
an acccommodating environment where they are able to express themselves
in their work. When purchasing these items from us you are directly
helping to make a better South Africa. You will be empowering less
fortunate people in the townships of South Africa through economic
upliftment and fair trade pratices.
