Doll is one of a kind, individually made by Zulu Artisans.
Approximately 16" tall.
The Zulus are the largest tribe in Southern Africa, renowned for their
artistry and craftsmanship.
Zulu beading is intimately related to the culture and plays in
intergral part in all traditional ceremonies.
We work with several different cooperatives in South Africa which are
using native crafts to help women and HIV positive individuals to be
financially independent.
A girl wears the tradtional zulu matron hat when she marries. A mother
may give her married daughter such a doll to signifiy happiness, wealth
and fertility in her new life.
