Hand Made 925 Sterling Silver Honey Dish - Rosh Hashanah - Judaica For Sale
A very beautiful and elegant Rosh Hashana Honey Dish crafted in 925 Sterling Silver. Not silver plate or electroplate.It is made by a Netafim55 silver in Israel.
It is a beautiful and very unique piece. Not found often. A real collector piece. The actual honey bowl which rests inside the silver receptacle is made out of heavy and durable glass. This bowl is easily removed for the purpose of washing and cleaning. The whole bottom portion and top cover is made of .925 Sterling Silver with filigree decoration.
About Honey Dishes; During the year it is customary to dip
challah in salt. From Rosh Hashanah ( the New Year ) and through Sukkot it is a Jewish custom is to dip
the challah in pure sweet honey as a sign for a good and sweet year ahead. To
commemorate and beautify this family custom many Jewish people use a specially
