This is a handmade broke back Viking Seax knife I made. The blade is 10.5 inches long with an overall length of 16 inches. This is one of my favorite knives I have created so far. The blade on this actually has a reverse taper, which makes the spine gets thicker towards the clip of the blade. Which this would normally make a knife unwieldy, but the top half of this knife is actually fullered reducing the weight substantially. You can see this in the radius carved into the top half of the blade. This then transitions into the the edge of the blade.The handle is made from 2 different woods. The first on the top is Indian Ebony wood, which has a beautiful 2 tones of brown and black. The second is Purple Heart wood, which is a beautiful natural purple color. The handle was capped on both sides with brass adornments, and peened on the bottom to hold everything in place. I did the engraving on the handle with a dremel tool and then painted them with white paint to make them really stand out. This was my first time ever doing this so I think they are a little crude but I figure on a early medieval Viking knife they should be!Comes with a full leather sheath with belt loops.
