I have for sale this very nice signed handel lamp base with a very nice leaded floral slag glass shade that i am selling without reserve.This is a nice leadedlamp with great color as you can see.The handelbase measures24inches tall and the shade is18.5 inches wide, so this is a large lamp folks. Thebase without issue, which means no metalware breaks or damage and its in fine working order. It hasa threesocket clusterand its been recently rewired with correct period style cloth cord and old plug. the patina worn a little biton the base as would be expected for a 100 year old base. The shade in original condition with all pieces of glass present and accounted for.A few stray tight age cracks, 8 or so,here or there as would be expected for aleaded shade such as, especially with the shade having several hundred pieces in the making process such as this. The glass vibrant and alive as the pictures show and all theleading intact.great glass here folks with some nice dirt in the striations of the glass. very nice patina on the leading throughout as well. i dont know who the maker is, but i am extremely surprised the shade ring fits the handel shade rest. as far as i know, only handel shades fit handel shade rests and thats been the standard for me for 20+ years. so could this bea handel shade, i say yes. is it signed no. either way anextremely niceshade handel or not on a very nice signed handel base.by the way,i only used11 watt bulbs to give you some idea how good the glass lights up and selling without reserve.base also coming with the very desirable tepee shade rest which adds more character and depth to the overall appearance. i see the standard handelrest for 50.00 or more plus shipping so factor this into your offers as far as value is concerned and know that this is probably a 100.00 or more shade rest on this base.

buyers please remember that I am selling antiques and that there should be a degree of expectation on your part in knowing that there will be normal aging and minor imperfections towards an item that is 75 to 100 years old. Chances are if there aren\'t any, it\'s a newer item and you shouldn\'t want it anyways. In other words, a minor blemish on some metalwork belonging to a large shade or a 1/16 by 1/16 of a paint flake missing, please try and be reasonable. I really don\'t want to do a refund because the finial ( typically a 10.00 piece ) isn\'t perfect on a 2,000.00 lamp. I always describe the important aspects towards condition reports and sometimes my eye misses what I deem immaterial issues such as the aforementioned sentence. It seems the more experienced an antique dealer or buyer is, the more understanding of condition they are.
