This maskhas an arrangement of peacock swords on the left side of the mask (when worn), balanced with an arrangement of iridescent coquil feathers on the right side. On this piece, there is a total of 20 peacock sword (fern) tail feathers used. I have then used 8 large peacock eye feathers as an accent, then adding 5 Golden pheasant red top tail feathers as a further embellishment. The facework comprises of iridescent green peacock body feathers accented with red body feathers, also from the Golden pheasant. This facework consists of over 80 individually handcut feathers. Strung gold sequin eye trim completes the piece. The entire feather artwork is completed on a cut to order upholstery fabric base, which features two built in elastic holds, as shown above. This material base gives very comfortable wear and also means that the mask will flatten easily for storage or wall display. For framing purposes, it has a height of 17\" with a 20\" width. Construction throughout is with hot glue.
