Haunting Civil War Era Memorial Cdv Fallen Comrades, Boots, Guns, Hats Old West? For Sale
This is a very unusual Civil War era memorial CDV presumably commemorating fallen comrades. Shown in the photo are numerous pairs of boots, guns, bags, and hats. It is not immediately clear to my eyes whether this was Civil War and military related or perhaps a artifact of the Old West, or both. One clue is the initials R.P.I. which appear on several buckles in the picture.It is a haunting and mysterious image that will reward the erstwhile historian.
On the back is the studio address and two cent tax stamp.
