Heavy African Copper/bronze Manilla Currency Wrist/ankle Tribal Bracelet Mbole:
You are offerding on a lot of 4 African currency bracelets. There are two matching wrist bracelets, one smaller wrist bracelet and one ankle bracelet. These are quite heavy for their size. The entire lot weighs in at 10.67 LBS. Manillas were used for various reasons, normally as a currency exchange such as a dowry. Copper bracelets and leg bands were the principal 'money' and were usually worn by women to display their husband's wealth. Some bracelets were made of gold but those are rare. It really brings the old adage 'worth her weight in gold' to a whole different level.
