Heinrich Handwerck 18" Child Doll, #109 Crying Mechanism:
BEAUTIFUL 18" Heinrich Handwerck (Germany)bisque head child doll. Circa very early 1900's. Mold #109. Ball jointed composition body. Blue glass sleep eyes. Open mouth with teeth. Unusual two-piece torso with pull stringworking crying mechanism. The two halves of the torso are taped together and it appears that this tapeis original to the doll. When the strings are pulled, the doll cries. Her mohair wig is old and has a slight musty smell to it, but we cannot tell if it is original to the doll. We will try to carefully pry it up so that we can stuff some tissue paper inside the head in order to keep the eyes safe in shipment. Everything is in excellent condition, with no cracks or hairlines to the head, and only minor blemishes to the composition body. She is wearing an elegant long flowing antique dress with undergarments, which are allincluded with this doll. Selling without reserve.
