Henty & Constable - Pair of Labels - 1940s - Mint Condition

Lovely labels, from happier days, whenjust after WWII, the south coast had dozens of long-established family brewers running mostly small tied estates and brewing an excellent range of beers. Most of these breweries and beers are now but a distant memory. Henty and Constable\'s Westgate Brewery in Chichester was, in 1955, an early faller, following the company\'s acquisition and closure by Guildford\'s Friary Brewery. Used as a Friary Meux depot for for a couple of years, the Westgate Brewery was totally destroyed by fire in the 1970s and is now part of Chichester\'s retail therapy experience!

As far as I know, these labels date from around 1948/49 as that\'s when my Uncle Eddie was travelling round the south coast, maintaining and repairing breweries\' bottling machines/equipment.

Condition as per images: Excellent.

Size: Oval - 83mm x 63mm

Happy offerding!
