Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman Rosewood Mid Century Vintage 670 671 For Sale
Fresh from an EAMES PACKED Hollywood Hills, CA estate and selling with is this 670/671 Eames Lounge and Ottoman for Herman Miller c.1971 in Brazilian Rosewood shells with black leather. This is a transitional chair dating it to 1971, 72, or 73, meaning before Herman Miller made the switch from Down fill to Polyester fill they had a few "transitional" years where cushions were filled with a foam layer AND a down layer. In my opinion, this combination of fill is the best because you get the comfort of down fill without the saggy, tired looking cushions of down filled only cushions, and the layer of foam provides enough but not too much support. The shock mounts that support the back appear to be original and are super solid and keep the chair firmly in its position and not bouncy. I repeat, no sagging in this chair- one of the most common issues of vintage eames lounges. The outline of original tag is present to chair and ottoman but the tags were misplaced by original owner. All original "Domes of Silence" feet are present and functional. This chair is in very nice overall condition with wear expected with age. The Rosewood shells are in very good original condition with only minor surface abrasions (worst are pictured) typical with age and use as shown in pictures. The original cushions are in good condition also. I would rate them in "good" condition because the headrest and mid-back cushion are in excellent condition and the bottom cushion, armrests, and ottoman have more wear expected with age. The prior owner, had these cushions touched up and had the cracks in the leather filled and redyed to restore the original cushions as best could have been done. Also, the ottoman cushion seam looks to have been hand-sewn around the corner zipper seam where there is typicallyseparation. All said, this chair looks good and should provide you with many more years of service in style! Please ask questions prior to offerding! Shipping cost is not $1.00!Delivery to Los Angeles and Palm Springs is a flat $150.-. Otherwise, to most lower 48 states shipping should be about 295-500 depending on your choice/mode of shipping. I suggest white glove service by plycon which gets delivered in your home and placed where you'd like it as it makes most potential shipping nightmares go away. Please send me your name/address/email/and phone number for a hard quote from plycon. This chair is for sale locally and we reserve the right to sell prior to end of sale to local customers. CAresidents pay sales tax! This chair is vintage and not new. Therefore, it is being sold AS/IS and AS FOUND. Please ask any questions before offerding. I will be happy to help in any way I can. Thanks and good luck!On Jun-23-13 at 22:09:39 PDT, seller added the following information:
