This sale features is a booklet containing a collection of 6 first day covers commemorating the 200th anniversary of North Carolina statehood. The artwork on the covers depicts 6 different North Carolinians who were delegates to the Constitutional Convention. Each cover bears a North Carolina commemorative US postage stamp. These stamps were cancelled on their first day of issue, August 23,1989. The place where they were cancelled is historic Edenton, NC, the county seat of Chowan County, which was also a colonial capital of the Tar Heel State.

Also included in this sale is a separate 8 1/2\" x 11\" parchment-type sheet with a different North Carolina statehood cover issued that very same day. This item was cancelled at the post office in tiny Tyner, North Carolina, also in Chowan County. 

These are nice collectible items which could be of great interest to all North Carolinians, history buffs, and/or stamp collectors.
