Historical Dark Blue Staffordshire Transferware Covered Vegetable Dish C. 1825 For Sale

Historical Dark Blue Staffordshire Transferware Covered Vegetable Dish C. 1825

Offered for sale is a Staffordshire dark blue pottery covered vegetable dish and cover that is impress marked by the maker Clews. It displays nicely but does have some damage. The finial has been off and reglued and there is a little edge roughness in one area. The base has two chips seen on the back edge and a 4" long crack off the edge. There is slight discoloration in the lid and more in the base as you can see in the photos. This would clean nicely with a professional cleaning. The interior glaze is OK but has some overall highpoint wear that gives it a slightly dull appearance, but not bad and no deep scratches. I don't know what the title of the view is, but it looks like there is a fort at the top of the hill and it is flying a flag...can't tell whether it is American or not. There are also people fishing in the foreground and boats in the water. Measures 12&1/4" from handle to handle, 6&1/4" to the top of the finial. (all little white spots are light spots from the photography)
