This is thecompletefour volume FULL LEATHER, FULLGILTset of Gould's History of Freemasonry, containing over 1,900 folio sized pages.The front and rear boards are deeply embossed leather and the spine covers and front boards decorated in gilt. This set is illustrated and containsboth black and white, and color lithographs.

Original leather withgilt scroll detail work around inside board margins.

Publishedyears before Mackey's well known 7 vol. history.Binding is silk sewn. Illustrationsstill have protective tissue guards in place. Gilt to all threepage edges. Five raised bands on fantastic leather.

Each volume measures 11 1/2x9 1/8 inches and varying widths, the set weighs in at16 pounds.

Deeply embossed full leather set. Volumes 2 and 3 are near perfect and look virtually new. The outer hinges on volume 1 are split, and the rear hinge on volume 4 is split. In both cases the boards are still securely attached. Gilt titles and devices to spine covers and front boards.Some edgewear and hard bumping tocorners. Bright gilt to all three page edges. Internals clear and bright with no marksas all volumes appear tohavebeen gently read.
