Holy Bible, "half-size", New York: American Bible Society, 1868:
I do not know if this bibleis considered "miniature", purchased this biblein the U.S. southwest(Lincoln, New Mexico) in 1989. The roof of the store was leaking badly and it seemed that everything in the store had water damage, including this bible (see photo). I think I always wanted to believe that this particularbible, dated 1868, was actually in this smalltown during the 1870's and 80'sduring the Lincoln County War and notable famous and infamous characters likeBilly the Kid and Pat Garrett walked the streets. At any rate, the bible is really in good shape on the inside, but not so much on the outside, considering what it had been through. There is some sort of burn mark on the front cover (see photo) and the end of the binder is faded to the point where you cannot read the words "Holy Bible". There is a pressed cloverbetween two pages, but it has not stained the pages. At some point someone also wrote their shopping list (see photo).
