Huge IMPRESSIVE GEORGIAN Solid Silver TEAPOT Hallmarked 1821 Sterling LONDON NR

William Fountain - A STUNNING DESIGN - 32+ troy oz!!

This is a really outstandingGEORGIAN large and heavy solid sterling silver teapot which was made in London, England in 1821 by the illustrious Georgian silversmith, William Fountain at his King Street workshops. This wonderfully stylish and fine quality tea pot is in superb condition. This wonderful teapot is in alarge oval design with a capped scroll handle, an impressive spout with gorgeous acanthus leaf decoration and is raised on a high pedestal base. It has a stunning finial and is embossed and engraved with gorgeous detailed decoration - STUNNING. It is engravedwith a large, very detailed armorial crest to one side. The teapot measures about 4 1/2" deep, 10 1/8" from spout to handle and stands 8 3/8" tall. It is VERY substantial - it weighs1006.6 grams - well over 32 1/4 troy oz. Its capacity isa full2 1/2imperial pints!!!

The teapot is in superb condition with less than the usual light surface scratching and NO splits or repairs- with NO dents and only a very few dings - SUPERB. The handle is firm as is the finial. The lid has little play and NO spring.It is hallmarked to the side with WF in script, lion passant (sterling silver assay mark), crowned leopard head,a, George III duty mark(all somewhat rubbed) showing that it was hallmarked in London in 1821. The lid is hallmarked clearly with WF in script, lion passant, a. I have shown the hallmarks so that you can make up your own mind. A really lovely, stunningand very rare GEORGIAN teapot from an illustrious silversmith in superb condition afterover 190years as you can see from the photographs - at a VERY low start and - you won't see a more impressive Georgian teapot this year!!!!
