offered for sale is this very fine example ofanart nouveau pewter biscuit box,made during the secessionist jugendstil period of the early 1900\'s and easily recognisable as coming from the portfolio of designs by archibald knox,these designs formed the basis for the tudric & cymric ranges of art nouveau pewter & silver ware retailed by liberty & co,itis in a polished condition and as a resultthe bodyhas a mirror like finish as it had when first made over 100 years ago with absolutely no loss to the wonderful knox honesty square leaf design, the drop in lid removes easily to reveal an interior that is both clean and without repair,it is fully marked to the basewith the design number 0194 plus the coveted tudric & \"made by liberty & co,the number indicates that thispiece iscirca 1903,overall condition should be considered as excellent.it is well over100 years oldand may have other minor signs of age & usage.this box comes in two sizes,this is the smaller measuring 4.5\" square at the base
