Identified bullseye Civil War Canteen with unusual, hard to find sky blue cover. Tied to the stopper is an old brown ink tag that reads "(Geor)ge Tryon carried this canteen 4 years during Civil War". Under that in pencil is written "the one with the green felt". I assume that this is a reference to the sky blue cover.The tag does have a tape repair on the back. The strap is complete as is the stopper.Chainwas replaced with a pieceof string and this appears to be a period alteration.Maker stamped at thespout, J.
