Ignatz Flying Pendulum Clock By Horolovar, Complete, Working, Guaranteed For Sale
IGNATZ FLYING PENDULUM CLOCK BY HOROLOVAR, COMPLETE, WORKING, GUARANTEED
This Ignatz Flying Pendulum clock was manufactured in Germany forthe Horolovar Co. of Bronxville, NY. The clock is working and is in very good condition. The woodlooks good and the brass is bright. I removed the movment and oiled the pivots and the spring sothey should be goodfor another decade or so.
The Ignatz clock was first manufactured by the New Haven Clock Co. (successor to Jerome& Co.) in the late 1800's and that is the name that Horolovar puton the dial when they remanufactured it in the late 1960's and early 1970's. This clock is about 40 years old but looks very good and works great.
The Ignatz clock works by swinging a small weight on the end of a string from the end of a rotating arm. Theweight wraps around one brass rod upright like a tetherball, then unwinds and winds around the same pole in the other direction. After it unwinds, the arms swings around to the other side where it catches the other upright and the process is repeated. The clock works well, but no Ignatz clock including this one is a very good timekeeper. They are fun to watch but you can't rely on them for accuracy.
The clock is 10" high, 6-1/4" wide, and 3-1/4" deep.
I guarantee the clock to be as described and will accept its return if the buyer is dissatisfied.
Shipping is the buyer's choice of USPS Priority Mail, USPS Parcel Post (cheapest but slowest), or FedEx or UPS Ground. Shipping weight is 2-3 pounds.
