Up for sale is an Important Chinese Famille Rose Jiaqing Mark & Period Tripod Censer Vase. The Censer is a truly fine and beautiful Imperial piece. The Censer is fully guaranteed to be an authentic Jiaqing (1976-1820) Mark & Period Imperial Kiln produced example, so please offer with fully confidence. The Censer is richly enamelled throughout with interesting designs which include the Eight Buddhist Emblems, which are surrounded by scrolling lotus, and other beautiful period designs. The Censer also has a very rich ruby red ground enamel color which is my personal favourite of the background enamel colors. The Censer shows its early age with some light wear and some small spots of enamel loss throughout which can only be noticed upon close inspection, and which could be touched up very easily if one desired. But I am sure almost all authentic examples of this age would have some small losses like this, and overall the Censer is in fine original condition with no porcelain chips, cracks, or repairs. The Censer is an amazing and incredible display piece measuring 11 inches long across the handles, by 8 inches wide, and stands 10 7/8 inches tall to the top of the handles. If you are looking to purchase some very fine investment quality Chinese porcelain pieces you should strongly consider acquiring this piece. Provenance: This Censer along with many of the other items listed are from the estate of a prominent family. The Family owned large amounts of land in Hong Kong in the earlier 1900s period which in turn made them extremely wealthy. The Family travelled extensively and has mansions all over the world. One of their main residence is here in Toronto which is how I acquired the items for sale. I was told the collector was actively buying at high end galleries and sales houses all over the world throughout the 1950-70s period. I was told he was well known for spending large sums of money if he seen an item he liked. Some of the items were also family pieces which were inherited by the collector and have been in the family since the earlier 1900s period. Notes: For an identical example which recently sold, and which is of the same size, period, and color variation please see Sothebys New York, March 19th, 2013, Sale N08974, lot 220. This identical example which sold within the last three months achieved 37,500USD. However if you are a member of the Sothebys site(which only takes a few minutes to sign up and is free) you can then view the condition notes for this lot. You will see this example they sold was noted as having both arms, and the top rim restored. I believe there is a very good chance if the example they sold was not restored it would have achieved 2-3 times as much, possibly even more. However I will ultimately let you decide for yourself and offer accordingly. I am sure the opportunity to purchase an authentic period example like this, mostly being offered with s and no buyers premiums will not arise again any time soon. I ask that you only offer on the censer is you are serious about purchasing it. I do wish everyone the very best of luck winning the sales! PLEASE REVIEW PAYMENT AND RETURN POLICIES PRIOR TO offerDING. BEST OF LUCK WITH THE sales! Mark your calendars this sale ends theEvening of Sunday July 7th.
