Hi everyone, thanks for having a look at my sales. Listed this week is a Amazing Large Asian Art Estate Collection. If you have been watching my sales over the past couple weeks you would have already seen some of the great items that have already sold from the collection. This is a really great sale, you just never see fresh from estate collections like this come up for sale these days, and mostly with s! There are many items listed I do not know a great deal about, so I am sure there are some really great treasures to be found! Up for sale is an Extremely Rare and Important Chinese Carved and Painted Watermoon Guanyin Temple Figure. The Figure is an amazing example and I believe possibly one of the Rarest and Most Important pieces of Chinese art that has ever been offered on . I was told the figure was brought from China to the families estate in England in the earlier 1900’s period and then later brought to Canada when the family moved here shortly after World War II. I was told the figure was from a large Palace or Temple. I was told the figure is an early Ming Dynasty period piece, but not having seen anything like this myself in person to be safe for the sale I am going to sell it as a Ming or Qing dynasty example and will let you ultimately decide its exact age for yourself. The Figure is very finely hand carved throughout with intricate life like details and much of its early polychrome paint still intact. The Figure shows heavy wear and small losses throughout, as I am sure any example of this age would show. The Figure has an old repair to the hand as you can see, which was repaired with old square nails which have not been used since the later 19th century, also being a good indication of its antique age. The Figure could use a cleaning with heavy dust and dirt from many years of not being disturbed. But I would never touch anything like this so I will leave that up to the new buyer to decide if they want to clean. The Figure is a Very Large and Impressive Large size example measuring 50 inches tall, by 35 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and weighs approximately 50 pounds. I have been told depending on its age the figure could be worth in the high 10’s, or even 100’s of thousands at the right high end sale, and that a few examples of this size have even achieved upwards of a million dollars in recent years. So I believe someone that knows what they are looking at here has the potential for substantial gain, seeing online I am sure it will not achieve anywhere close tothe amount that one of the higher end sales could possibly achieve. But as I have been instructed by the estate lawyers of the deceased collector the figure, and therest of the estate collection is to be sold with Absolutely s to the high buyer with No Exceptions. I am sure it could be a very long time before you see another Amazing, Exceptionally Rare, and Important piece like this up for sale. The Figure is a Truly Impressive and Astonishing Museum Quality example, and an Important part of Early Chinese Buddhist Historical Art. **IMPORTANT SHIPPING NOTE: This figure is much larger than we regularly handle and are set up to ship. It is being sold for Local Pickup only, and it is the full responsibility of the buyer to make their own arrangements for shipping the figure. We will help the most we can to recommend some crate and freight shipping firms in Toronto which is around 1 hour from us and we do not mind delivering it to the Toronto area to have it shipped. We take Absolutely No Responsibility once it is pickup up by the buyer or is dropped off at a shipping firm in regards to its safe arrival, or additional charges that may be incurred. Once it is out of our hands it is the sole responsibility of the buyer to make all further shipping arrangements.
