Important Reminders Of The Industrial Revolution Mill Daguerreotype & Ambrotype:
This pair in tandem offers us a closeup view of the expansion of the Industrial Revolution. The mill building in the daguerreotype is only a few years before the same but expanded mill building in the ambrotype. It's amazing what a few years can do.1) Sixth plate Daguerreotype of mill building. The daguerreotypist positioned himself or herself to maximize the resultant image. We see the complete building and it fills the space of the daguerreotype. We can look into windows and examine the cupola at the top. A ding (outward protrusion) at the cupola and another upper left corner. Pronounced mat abrasions upper left. Tarnish. Housed in a half case.2) Quarter plate ambrotype same mill building, but there's expansion over to the right signifying increased labor and increased production. Ambrotype is dark. Fair condition. Housed in a worn full case.VISIT OUR WEBSITE by clicking on the ME icon and then clicking on ‘Greg French Early Photography Website.’
