The striking design of this clock grabs the attention of anyone who sees it. All of the wood case parts are original. The dial is in great condition. This find clock has the alarm feature. No double work the family for many years! The alarm works great and is very loud! Complete with the original pendulum and a new key to wind it.
This fine clock movement has been completely overhauled and cleaned. The main cause of antique clocks’ no longer working is that they need a good cleaning. Over time, the oil in the pivots gathers dust and particles of metallic grit, the result of normal wear. Also the oil breaks down and becomes thick and gummy, and actually acts like glue. The result is that the gears no longer turn freely, and the clock stops. A good cleaning usually is all the clock needs to be almost like new again! The cleaning procedure involves taking the movement out of the case and totally dismantling the movement. All the gears, rods, etc., are taken off of the clock plates and are hand scrubbed and inspected for wear. The springs are taken out of the barrels, stretched out, and hand cleaned and polished. The plates are thoroughly cleaned. Then all the parts are placed in an ultrasonic cleaning machine for the final cleaning. The pivots are polished on the lathe and the pallets are polished. Bushings are installed on any pivot holes that have become “egg shaped” from wear to make them perfectly round again. The movement is reassembled and oiled. (We use only the finest German Clock Oil). The springs are placed back and greased with top-quality synthetic spring grease and the complete movement is placed on a "running stand" and run for several days to insure all is well. It is easier to detect misalignments, bent rods, and worn pivots and gears while it is running in full view. We like to run the movement for over a week to be sure it will run a full 8 days on one winding, and that everything is well. By that time, any problems will usually show up. The final result is a movement that runs just like new! If you like we will include instructions and hints to keep it that way for the next 100 years (or more!). Google “Antique Clock Repair” or visit billsclockworks.com to see what the going price of an antique clock overhaul costs today! Usually over 350.00 for a time and strike movement and 450.00 for a Westminster Chime Movement.
Complete instructions for setting up, and care and maintenance will be included if you so desire. These antique clocks amaze me - could you imagine any other consumer product still working perfectly after 110 years! And the truly amazing thing it is ready for the next 100 years.

We are at the NAWCC National clock convention at Dayton OH, in our vintage Airstream (with all the kitties!) This is a great convention!
Then we’re planning on visiting Donna’s Sister and brother in law in Conway MO. Then we’re planning on taking a summer vacation camping in Colorado!
It looks like we’ll probably not have much internet access during the trip with all the driving, convention activities, and camping in the National Forests. We’ll ship ASAP right after returning. We’ll begin shipping on Monday right after we get back.
Altogether, we will be gone from June 29th through August 2nd .
Sorry for the inconvenience.
