This listing is for 1 of 3 European short or hunting swords that were found in the attic of a local estate. All 3 will be listed here on today. Please see my other listings for the other two.There is . I will gladly combine shipping wherever possible.

This sword has a very handsome carved "bone" grip cut with diagonal lines and shaped to fit the gripping hand. The sword measures 28 1/2 inches or 72.5 cm from blade tip to the pommel. The blade itself measures 23 1/4 inches or 59 cm long.

The blade has a single edge and very little curve with a blood groove that runs three quarters of the blades length. The blade is 1 inch or 2 1/2 cm deep where it meets the grip and is 5 mm thick. The quillons are slightly s in shape. The is topped by a shaped piece of brass that fits over the grip. This has a very interesting feature a smiling face of a man or perhaps a beast with long hair. Very neat thing. The pommel is peened over and partially covered by a brass finial. There is staining to the "bone" grip and surface rust to the blade. An interesting sword.
