Iron Man #1: Cgc 7.0: May 1968: 1st Issue Of Ironman: Origin Retold:

NOTE: Sales typically run Saturday to Saturday. If there are no offers by Friday, the sales will normally be ended early. They may or may not be listed again. (If there are offers it will sell on . Something to consider if you are truly interested.)

DESCRIPTION FOR THIS sale

Nice Higher Grade Silver Age copy of Marvel Comics Iron Man #1 from May 1968. CGC 7.0. Archie Goodwin Story, Gene Colan cover. First issue of Iron Man.

[My apologies to anyone who offer or was watching this comic last week. There was a misleading typo in the listing and I did not want anyone to offer based on that error so I closed the sale.]

Be sure and check my other sales. I will be listing tons of Golden, Silver, and Bronze Age comics - most in attractive lots.

ABOUT GRADING

Insofar as grading is concerned, just check my response profile: 2400+ with 100% positive over more than 13 years on - most of which involved sales of comics. If I screw something up I make it right. However, I do not guarantee individual grades on large lots. Like any other skilled grader, I will not be 100% on the mark all the time so I do not want to get into debates about one or two comics out of a hundred being off by a grade. Large lots typically sell for bargain prices so no nitpicking allowed. CGC, on the other hand, is on them. I do not back CGC grading. That is their job. I do adhere to current Overstreet grading standards. You comic folk out there should be familiar with that but, if not, you can bone up on it here "'s Overstreet Grading Guide". All of you non-comic folk can get a quick general overview here "Dan's Quick and Dirty Comic Book Grading Guide".

DA RULES

I have a pretty good handle on what I can net for comics selling at a local sale house (no fees, no Paypal fees, no shipping) so I will not be giving comics away on . I typically start my pricing on lots at around 20% of current Overstreet value based on the condition of the books. Some sales will start for less and some for more, but not many. If they do not sell here, they will eventually sell somewhere else. is no longer the only game in town so I will be marketing these items aggressively on other sites as well. If someone makes a deal on one of those sites I will sell it there and end this sale. However, if there is decent interest on (meaning people are actually placing offers in lieu of waiting around to snipe at the end), I will leave the item on and sell it here. has always been structured to encourage last minute offerding but, since there are other options out there now, you might want to get some early offers in just to keep the sale active if you are truly interested. It does not cost anything to end a sale if there are no offers.

OTHER SALES

I am a long-time comic book guy who has been away for a few years doin' other stuff. I am a collector who buys collections that have books I want and then eventually sells the extras to recoup some of my cost so I can do it all over again. (Only way I can afford to play.) I have allowed my extras to get completely out of control so I intend to seriously pare down my comics. I will be selling thousands of comics in the relatively near future (more if I decide to part with some of my core collection). You will not see much junk. I drop that off at a local sale house. I will be listing Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age, and some nice Modern stuff - most of which will be sold in attractive lots with low starting prices. Marvel and DC Super heroes will be in the mix, of course, but there will be more interesting comics as well. Things you don't see every day.

(NOTE: My day job is making it difficult for me to list large quality lots each week so I may start listing every other week. If you have me earmarked to check each week - and you are crazy if you don't - and there is nothing one week just check back the next.)

SHIPPING

[IMPORTANT] - I am no longer able to offer low cost shipping options. forces sellers to guarantee delivery and that means all shipments must be insured and shipped with some sort of delivery confirmation. no longer allows the buyer to choose those options so insurance and confirmation cost will be built into the handling fee. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases. 's rules were too squirrelly for me to figure out so I will just work it out with you at the end of the sale.

INTERNATIONAL buyers - ASK FOR A SHIPPING QUOTE! My sales specify US Shipping only but that will not stop you from offerding. I used to work with International buyers and shipped all over the world using the cheapest methods possible. Nowadays 's need to control every tiny detail of the sale means that shippers are forced to guarantee delivery. That means shipments must have insurance and delivery confirmation. Unfortunately, that can be hideously expensive on International shipments. My guess is that you will not want to pay the freight.
