MOVEMENT: 100% original observatory chronometer movement made by IWC Schaffhausen signed S & Co (Stauffer & Co) and under dial I.W.C PROBUS SCAFUSIA. IWC International Watch Co observatory chronometer movement QUALITY EXTRA - only a handfull of these ultra rare movements were produced for chronometer contests at the astronomical and technical observatory Neuchatel (Newchapel) Switzerland. 19 jewels, highest grade gilt and frosted observatory chronometer movement made by International Watch Co Schaffhausen, top grade movement in very good condition, bimetallic compensation balance, which is loaded with GOLD screws, raised gold jewel settings throughout, ruby endstone on balance, blued breguet hairspring, steel escape wheel, plates are super clean, "swan neck" micrometric regulator and fine adjusting device. Working very good, very clean. This beautiful watch has the original movement in an excellent status which was very well saved. Movement has been recently serviced to ensure it winds and sets smoothly while keeping great, accurate time. Serial number 255904 dates it to the year 1901.
