Iconic Civil War Federal Soldier w/ Rifle & RARE Saber Bayonet, Superb Full Standing Quarter Plate Tintype.His US Belt Buckle & Eagle Breast Plate are Clearly Visible, Which is Rare as Most Were Covered w/ Gold Tint by the Photographer. A Great Full Standing Pose w/ His Cap & Cartridge Box, Kepi and Short Rifle w/ the Less Common Saber Bayonet Attached. The Photographers Stand Can Be Seen By His Feet. Image is Housed in a Decent Full Brown Leatherette Case w/ Tape Repaired Spine, Floral Motif, and Rich Deep Green Velvet Pad. Conditon: There is an ever so light horizontal bend across the middle, but is really of no consequence. There is a minor matte abrasion along the top right edge, and a small spot here or there, but overall a real nice piece with excellent contrast and tone, not dark at all like many tintypes of the period. Image is housed in a decent full brown leatherette case with tape repaired spine, floral motif, and rich deep green velvet pad; both hooks are present but eyelets are missing.
