Important GEORGIAN Solid Silver SMALL EMBOSSED BOWL Hallmarked 1808 Sterling NR
Gorgeous Design - Unusual - LARGE - Superb - 2 troy oz.
This is a really lovely GEORGIAN solid sterling silver small bowl which was made in London, England in 1808. It has a fabulous circular shape, is raised on a circular stepped pedestal base, and has gorgeousembossed to the sides with a plain rim. It is is NOT otherwise engraved. The bowl measures 3 1/2" in diameter and standsover 2" tall. It is quite substantial - it weighs60.2 grams -virtually 2troy oz.
The bowl is in very good condition with just the usual surface scratching and NOdents or repairs and few dings and little distortion - SUPERB. It is hallmarkeda rubbed makers mark (F?), lion passant (sterling silver assay mark),crowned leopard head, N, George III duty mark showing that it was hallmarked in London in 1808. I have shown the hallmark so that you can make up your own mind. A really lovely and very rare GEORGIAN bowl in superb condition after205 years as you can see from the photographs - at a VERY low start and .
