...... If you are a student or historian interested in Massachusetts Militia History, then this sale might be important to you. Recently picked from a Massachusetts home, this 6 ¼” wide by 7 ¾” tall leather bound book is for the “Chelmsford Rifle” which was a company in the Chelmsford Militia. There are 55 hand written pages containing Massachusetts Militia Company Orders.  They span the years between 1824 and 1839 and are filled with details about meetings and inspections. These took place at many local residences and businesses including William Reads House, Jest Smith Store, G. Y. Adams Hotel, The Taft Hotel, and many other places including farmer’s fields. You will find long lists of Soldiers and Officers who were members of the “Chelmsford Rifle Corps” . These men had to pay a “dues” to be a member and many times they paid subscriptions to purchase items needed. One particular item which was expensive was a new “Kent Bugle”.

Packages are usually shipped within 48 hours of receiving payment (excluding Saturday/Sunday) and most times are shipped out within 24 hours! Every package is sent with full insurance.

Also, some freight items are too large for us to pack safely and so we send them to Providence Pack & Ship to be professionally packed. US Buyers: Shipping costs for most items can be determined by the shipping calculator in the sale (Please view details below about calculator) and are shipped via UPS ground.  If you prefer USPS this is also an option.  If you prefer USPS, please contact us and we will make arrangements.   Any item that sells for over $250 must be sent with signature required.

International buyers:  Please be aware that you may incur a brokerage and/or customs fee upon delivery. Winning buyer is responsible for shipping & customs charges. We reserve the right to choose the carrier based on shipping method selected at time of payment. Any item that sells for over $250 will be sent Express Mail with FULL insurance.
