India (bengal) Bronze Ink Pot (late 19th Or Early 20th Century):
$15

You are offerding on a bronze ink pot produced in Eastern India (most likely Bengal) during the British Raj period. Although I cannot date this item for certain, I believe it was made during the late 19th or early 20th century. It measures 73mm x 65mm x 22mm. At one time, every scribe, school buy or clerk in India had an ink pot like this to hold ink for use with a quill pen. At one time, these items were quite plentiful and could be found for sale as scrap, but that day is long gone. Now, these items are quite rare and hard to come by. Please note that this item exhibits some surface corrosion.
