As you know, there has been an explosive interest in Chinese silver the last year. Prices have appreciated 3-400% or more this year.
Indian colonial silver prices have only now begun to rise. We believe that very shortly Indian silver will experience this same torrential price appreciation. Signed examples from the important Calcutta firms are poised to make the greatest advances.
Classic tapering cylindrical form.
Both shoulder cover and top beaker cover screw on tightly. Rare. In that most often covers slip on and are badly fit.

The layered shield medallion sits atop twin palm tree supports.
Most Calcutta silver used imported sterling sheets from England rather than unpredictable (assayed) domestic silver.
This fine Calcutta sterling silver village scene cocktail shaker is 9 inches.
Exceptionally thick heavy guage sterling construction weighs 23 1/2 (standard) ounces.
Sterling Silver hallmarked.

Remember, the items you see are antiques. Hence, have an expected amount of wear from normal use. As such, returning an item because we failed to mention the tiniest bit of wear, or barely discernible flaw is not acceptable. Nor do we accept returns based on buyer's remorse.
